Soccer

Go team Earthquakes!! Caiden finished his second year of kindersoccer. He had a blast. I think he enjoys it more for the social aspects though. He loves to goof around with all his buddies. We were very happy this year that he was at least running with the team. Last year he was a little confused and mostly stood in the middle of the field watching everyone run back and forth. Pretty funny. This year he even made contact with the ball a few times. But having fun is more important than having skills right?
This is the team with Coach Kelly Wemp....

relaxing on the sidelines....

Yea! Go Caiden! Kick that ball!

Gooooooooo Earthquakes!!!!!

time for a break....

After the last game, the whole team went out for pizza at Chico's and each player got a trophy....

Easter

We had a great Easter weekend. On Saturday night, we colored eggs togther (except I ran out of vinegar, so they didn't turn out very bright...but Caiden and Paige didn't know the difference)....

Paige's first egg had to be pink, of course....

Her favorite thing was the dropper. Good thing I saved the ones from last year, so we each had our own....
Then, on Easter morning, we woke up to a surprise from the Easter Bunny. Lots of candy, a green light saber for Caiden, and a bubble gun for Paige....

Caiden was very excited to have the same color light saber as Yoda...

Paige was not having the gun part of the machine. She just wanted to hold the bottle, but it didn't come with a blower thing because it was supposed to shoot out of the gun. So I had to track down a spare blower thing. Good thing I had one or we may have had our first Easter disaster....you don't mess with Paige's bubbles....

Then we had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. I just love what Paige is wearing: pink and brown polka dot jammies, lime green socks, and purple swimming shoes, topped off with her fleece flower jacket. I promise that there are days when she is wearing matching clothes.

Caiden was the winner, not that it was a race. Paige liked to stop and open each one, eat the candy and then move on to the next. Later we went to church and I totally forgot to get a picture of them in their cute Easter clothes. Argh!! Oh well, take my word for it. They were super cute!

I forgot.....

I forgot to post these pictures with my last post (at Snowbird). Theses are some crazy shots of my cousins, brother, and Casey skiing the powder and doing flips and tricks. My skills aren't exactly at this level, so I never get to see it in action, only in pictures. But I am always in awe of the things they can do. Above is my cousin Scott doing a backflip....

My brother, Rodney. I think this is called a "daffy". (But what do I know, really?)

Casey, skiing the powder....

Snowbird 2009

Last week we were in Utah, skiing it up at Snowbird. All of the Peart family was in attendance and it was loads of fun for all....
This was the weather the first morning we woke up and it pretty much stayed like this all week. The amount of snowfall was amazing. Something like 124 inches within 10 days. It basically snowed 1-2 feet everyday. The guys were in heaven with all that powder. (So much for Spring skiing!)

The clan: It is hard to tell who is who. Basically me, Casey, Kim, Papa, Rod, Jes, Tyler, Dakota, Tanner, and Dennis's family too. Derek and Nat, Jami and Tate, Kaydee, Scott, and Dennis.

Me and Casey

Kim, Maddie, Papa, Lauren, Tanner

All ready to go....(Casey still hasn't mastered keeping his eyes open. It's a work in progress...)

my little stud....

This is Caiden's second time skiing and he did so good! Despite the snowy weather, he was always excited to go out. Even when he crashed, he laughed about it. (Except for one face plant. But those make me want to cry too.) I love this little boy! There are some video clips of him skiing below...

Caiden trying to throw a snowball at me while I took their picture. Hmmm....wonder who gave him that idea. Hmmm......

Paige along for the ride with her Papa!

Fun times at the pool....

There was lots of dancing and singing going on to Guitar Hero. Can I just say that I LOVE Guitar Hero? It is so fun!!!!! I totally want it, which is strange because I absolutely hate video games. But this is different, and by the way, I ROCK at it. (It even told me so.) I have a newfound respect for people who can play the guitar and sing at the same time. Kudos to you! It is hardwork!
Caiden and Dillon rockin' it. (I've caught Caiden twice singing Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer" and Linclon Park's "What I've Done". Hilarious.)

Me and Kim seriously rockin' it! Kim really gets into it when she's at the mike! And I am in deep concentration trying to hit evey note on the guitar. How do rock stars play the guitar, sing, and dance all at the same time?? It's hard, I tell ya!

But Paige is the one who stole the show. She is my little rock star and I've got a video to prove it. (Sorry that it is sideways. I can't get it to upload correctly. Help!) Anyway, enjoy a minute of her on vocals....priceless!!

Too Funny!!

Seriously! As I was posting the previous post (of finding Paige asleep in weird places) she LITERALLY did it again! About 2 minutes before, she was at my side wanting to go play outside. I told her "just one minute". No more than 2 minutes passed till I was done. I went to find her and I couldn't find her anywhere! I started to get a little frantic, thinking "did she go outside without me?" But I didn't hear the door open or close. So after walking through each room a couple of times, I checked in her favorite hiding spot (the closet under the stairs) and sure enough....SHE WAS ASLEEP IN IT! It is even funnier that she closed the door behind her... So she has now officially fallen asleep at the top, bottom, and underneath of the stairs. Crazy.

My Paigey

Yesterday, I came out of my bedroom to find Paige asleep on the bottom stair. She has now officially fallen asleep at the top AND bottom of the stairs. And the funny thing is, is that she had just been in my room with me about 2 minutes before this. I think even more amazing than the places I find her asleep in, is just how quickly she can fall asleep. We all had a good laugh at this one....

Below I managed to capture a small clip of Paige's dancing. This is only a fraction of her moves. She sort of tones it down when I pull out the camera. But this girl loves to dance. It is so funny. And yes, I am totally aware that she looks like a complete ragamuffin. I especially love the one purple and one white sock. And earlier that morning she had a small accident (yes, still potty training) so she decided to wear some capris that are too big with her pajama shirt. Very stylish, I know.

Speaking of potty training, here's an update. Paige is doing AWESOME at home. It has been a long time since she's had an accident. She wears regular underwear everyday that we are home. However, going out in public is another story. She has a fear of public restrooms and I really don't want to carry a potty chair around town everytime I have to run an errand. So she wears pull-ups in town, and even though she is almost always dry by the time we make it home, the 2 times I have gone without she peed her pants. Once in the grocery store (that was really embarassing) and once at a friends. (Sorry, Jami. And Harvest Foods too for that matter.) Anyway, all-in-all, I am thrilled to at least being on the road to diaper freedom. For a little while at least.

Anniversary

Seven years ago today, on March 16, 2002, Casey and I were married in the San Diego Temple. It is hard to believe seven years have past already. (I feel a little old). Our 2 children have been our greatest accomplishments. And we have been blessed every step of the way. So....here's to my awesome husband....Thank you for being a great husband and for working so hard and, most importantly, for getting up EVERY morning and feeding the kids breakfast while I sleep in. I will forever be grateful for that one.

How did he pop the question? Well, it all happened at the beginning of Winter semester 2002. We knew we wanted to get married and had talked about it prior to the semester beginning, but had not exactly shared this with our families just yet. At this time Ricks College was making the transition to becoming BYU-Idaho. But not all programs had switched to a 4 year program, including mine. I had already gotten my Associates, so my schedule was filled with mostly random classes. We knew would eventually have to transfer somewhere else and Casey found out that some of the classes he was taking would not transfer. So....it seemed a waste to stay there and take classes that we didn't need or wouldn't transfer, right? Solution: Drop out and get married. So we dropped all our classes and decided we work for the rest of the semester, save up some money and get married in the summer. This was a really fun phone call to make home. I distinctly remember calling my mom and catching her on her lunch break. She was in the drive-thru of Burger King. I told her Casey and I were getting married and dropping all of our classes (in so many words, I'm sure I presented it much better). I heard the order taker say "Can I take your order?" and my mom snapped "Just a minute!!" It was hilarious. But nevertheless, she was happy for me and was all for it. So we began looking for jobs in Rexburg and could not find ANYTHING. What to do? We upped the wedding to March and decided to move home (me, California - Casey, Washington) until then. So....back to how he popped the question. In the meantime of all of this, we had been ring shopping and I found a ring I liked. The element of surprise was sort of gone, since we knew would be leaving soon to go home, and it was only a matter of time. So Casey asked me to go into the ring shop and have my finger sized. Unbeknownst to me, he had called the guy there beforehand and told him to tell me that they accidentally sold my ring. So I went in to have my finger sized and the guy told me "I'm so sorry, but we sold your ring." I was sooooo mad. Dumb idiot. How does that happen? So I called Casey and he assured me that we would continue looking and find another one and it would be okay. The next day, he came and got me and we went and got some lunch. It was a nice day, so we went and ate outside at the top of a hill overlooking good ole' Rexburg. Then he got down on one knee and pulled out MY ring and proposed. I was so happy and very surprised that he was able to trick me. (Anyone who knows Casey, knows he is a TERRIBLE liar!) Anyway, not long after that we went home and worked a little and in just 3 months time, planned a beautiful wedding in San Diego. We had a luncheon on the beach and later honeymooned on a cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. And we are now currently living our happily ever after....

Too much TV!

This may be sign the TV is on too much in my house....

Yesterday I was in Rite Aid shopping, and Caiden (who, let me remind you, is 5) saw an item he had seen on TV. These were his exact words: "Mom! We have to get this! It's the AquaGlobe! You put it in your plants and it waters the plant for you! You don't have to water them for up to 2 weeks!!" He was so excited and talking really fast and his voice squeaked on the last word. He was totally Mr. Infomercial. A lady nearby heard the whole thing and she stared at him like he was the strangest child. I couldn't stop laughing at how excited he was over the AquaGlobe. And even funnier, we don't even have any plants. So as much as I'd like to believe it's his super fantastic memory, I'm more convinced that I need to turn the darn TV off more often.
